Connecting with the Counselor
5th Grade
All of the 5th grade students became little entrepreneurs during counseling time! As we study the Business Services Career Cluster, students had the opportunity to think of a "Shark Tank" pitch. We watched a short clip of the popular TV show, then they were set loose to think of a product that they would like to invent to solve a problem. There were some pretty great ideas! I would encourage you to ask your student about their invention!
6th, 7th, 8th Grade
Students are continuing to learn effective strategies in the area of Conflict Management. This was a unit we started a couple of months ago, and are now picking back up where we left off. During this unit, students will identify healthy ways to resolve conflict while they work to understand that having conflict is 100% normal and okay.
School Families
We also had School Families this week! This is such a great time at our school! The hallways and classrooms are filled with laughing and students and their teachers having fun. This week, we had a friendly family competition of paper airplane making.
Looking ahead...
Next week, I will be visiting 6th and 7th Grade classrooms to talk about enrolling for next year! Your student will be bringing home information about electives to choose from. Please look over this with your student and talk about what electives might be the best fit for them.
