DID YOU KNOW
- E-cigarettes come in many shapes and sizes. Most have a battery, a heating element, and a place to hold a liquid.
- Some e-cigarettes look like regular cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. Some look like USB flash drives, pens, and other everyday items. Larger devices such as tank systems, or “mods,” do not look like other tobacco products.
- JUUL is a brand of e-cigarette that is shaped like a USB flash drive. Like other e-cigarettes, JUUL is a battery-powered device that delivers a nicotine-containing liquid to produce an aerosol that is inhaled.
Information Source: Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Interested in learning more about vaping? More information can be found at: https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes/index.htm.

A former student visits PECC
Last week Miss Gabby’s class had a special visitor. One of Miss Gabby’s former students, Emily, asked if she could come in and read for her preschool class. Emily did an excellent job reading and the preschool students loved having her come in. While she was reading the students were completely silent and all had eyes on her as she read the story. Emily also stayed for centers and helped students roll and build turkeys using play dough. The preschool students were sad to see her go. To top it all off, when asked what she would like to be when she grows up, she said a preschool teacher! Way to make your former preschool proud Emily!

A chat with students from Plymouth, England!
Last week, our 4th and 5th Grade Chorus had a pretty adventurous experience! They were able to participate in a Google Hangout with a group of Year 5 students from Plymouth, England! Each group performed a song for each other and then were able to comment on each other's performance.
Additionally, students were able to ask questions and answer questions about cultural practices, including a typical school day, favorite foods, as well as what Thanksgiving means to us, and our most recent Veterans Day.
