π Students are expected to dress up as their influential person. A picture of your child's costume is due Tuesday, May 14th.
π Exhibition Day is on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 PM during the school day!
Dixie's House of Influence Overview πΌοΈ
β Students will become a person of influence and to facilitate change, students will identify, research, and create an interactive presentation on an influential person. This will involve students βbecomingβ their person of influence.
β Students will determine which house these influential persons would be a part of and connect them to house characteristics. Students will then work within their houses in 4th grade to create recommendations and improvements to the current house system.
β Finally students will present their recommendations to house leaders/committees to implement changes. The overall goal is for students to foster an understanding of how to be positively influential and create changes to improve the house system/meetings.
π What We're Learning in E Complex
Reading: Students will be learning to explain how an author uses reasons and evidence to support particular claims the author makes in a text. We will be assessing students growth on Tuesday.
Math: Students are learning to add and subtract fractions by converting denominators to 10 or 100.
Science: Students will be able to identify evidence from patterns in rock formations and fossils in rock layers to support an explanation for changes in a landscape over time.
π» Chromebook Expectationsβ
During the month of February, Chromebooks will continue to go home with students. Below you will find expectations regarding students' Chromebooks. We will be holding students accountable to these expectations and reteach them if needed.
- Students will keep their charger at home and charge their Chromebook every night.
- Students will arrive to school each day with a fully charged Chromebook.
- No food/drinks should be near their Chromebooks.
- Students should be using this as an educational tool, not as a toy.
