Morning Drop Off
We are 6 weeks into school now and our students are growing by leaps and bounds! We would like to ask that from now on, if your students are car riders, you drop them off in the car line each morning. We are trying to limit traffic in the hallways and get our students to class. Therefore, we are no longer allowing siblings to walk each other to class.
Unity Week - Take a Stand Against Bullying
Unity Week 2022 will be celebrated the week of October 17th. Here are the days for the week
Monday - Put Bullying to Rest - Wear Pajama Pants
Tuesday - We're All on the Same Team - Wear your favorite jersey or team shirt
Wednesday - Unity Day - Wear Orange
Thursday - Hats off to Good Choices - Wear your favorite hat to school
- Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.
- An estimated 5 million to 7.5 million U.S. students miss nearly a month of school each year.
- Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month and that’s known as chronic absenteeism.
- When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating
Please help us in developing positive attendance habits for your students! Our school social worker, Chris McCoy, is happy to answer any attendance related questions you might have or to work with you to develop a plan to help your children.
