Homework
Vocabulary Packets-- Vocabulary packets are for student practice only. Students may receive extra credit for completing the entire packet by Friday. We will practice the words in class with flashcards and other word work games.
**Weekly Reading Response: This week students will write a written response to their book in class a a practice for their reading graph. We will be practicing how to write these reading responses so that students feel comfortable writing these responses independently. By the end of the quarter, your child will be required to write 1 written response per week along with their reading graph. Please see your child's binder for examples of these responses, but kindly do not remove them. Thanks!

What's Happening This Week?
Our Non-fiction study of the Titanic Continues this Week! Students will be continuing some independent reading and research as we learn about first and secondhand accounts.
Students will also conduct independent research during Daily 3 on the survivor's stories of the Titanic.
Writing
We'll learn how to write a response to text.
Students will also continue to plan and write their hobby fair papers from the point of view of an object that they use when practicing their hobby!

We'll review punctuation and learn what relative pronouns and adverbs are.
