A Message From Heather Patterson, GRHS Principal
Happy Sunday, GRHS Longhorns,
Starting Monday, we will not be writing any passes or allowing students to go their vehicles during the day. Of course, if there is a medical emergency (such as needing an inhaler, etc) they need to come directly to the nurse or student service window and we will have security escort them there and back. 4th period athletes, if you are currently leaving things in your car such as lunch or a change of clothes, these need to be carried in when you first arrive at school. My goal is to do my very best to keep this campus as safe and secure as possible, so I appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Failure to follow this expectation will have consequences. Staying tight and right with all campus expectations will ensure that this year closes out successfully and we can all enjoy a nice summer break!
Congrats to GRHS Softball and GRHS Baseball....they are on 🔥! GRHS Softball is 15-0 in District, so please keep coming out and supporting them into playoff season! If you were not at the Baseball game Friday night you missed out. The ROWDIES were out in full force for the long haul of a 10 inning 6-5 Longhorn WIN over the Ridgepoint Panthers. Let's keep supporting our Longhorns that are still competing this Spring by showing up strong! It makes a difference! Shoutout to GR Football, Basketball, Tennis, Softball, and Cheer for supporting alongside tons of GR students, families, and teachers. It's a FAMILY thing at the Ranch!
This week is Biology EOC (for Freshman) and US History EOC (for Juniors) tests. Passing EOC STARR tests are a graduation requirement, so please get plenty of sleep, eat a good breakfast, and try your best these days.
Please make sure you are paying attention to the testing days below, since we are a closed campus on those days. That means no lunch deliveries or early check outs can happen for the grade level that is testing! Please also note that all other GRHS (non-testing) students are eating at different lunch periods due to all testers eating at D lunch on these days. Interrupting the testing environment is not an option since it disrupts the other testers and will cause us to have a testing violation that must be reported. Thanks for understanding and planning accordingly!

📣FINAL 24-25 Course Verification is DUE APRIL 19TH!📣
On Friday, April 12th during 3rd period students received their course requests for the 2024-25 school year. Students have until Friday, April 19th to request any course changes. Students will complete the course change on the form they were given with the student and parent signatures and return them to the counseling suite room 2419. We appreciate your understanding and are looking forward to a GReat 2024-25 school year!
If you are a DUAL CREDIT student, please read this important information. DEADLINE for dual credit course registration is MAY 2, 2024. What that means is that you have applied to LONESTAR through APPLY TEXAS (this can take up to a week). You have received a LONESTAR number in your email that begins with a 7 (That is your LONESTAR number). You have filled out the LONESTAR registration sheet with all information; including your Lonestar number, required signatures, correct college numbers, then submit that form and your correct test scores through Canvas in Assignments. If you are still waiting to take TSI, NEXTGEN, you still need to submit your application and make a note in Canvas that you are waiting to test. The deadline is MAY 2, 2024. If you do not have your information uploaded in Canvas, you will be REMOVED from Dual by your counselor and placed into another class that has an opening. EXTERIOR DOOR SAFETY AND CONSEQUENCE!
REMINDER: Student Safety To Prevent Unauthorized Entry (December 11th Email)
Dear GRHS Longhorn Families,
As your principal, I remain committed to the safety and security of our campus and would like to request your cooperation and support with our students, which includes some important reminders about our visitor check-in process and the consequences for failing to adhere to these procedures.
It’s important to understand that the visitor check-in process is in place to safeguard the well-being of everyone within our school community. Allowing unauthorized individuals into the school or using the wrong entrance poses a potential risk to the safety of our students and staff. All campus visitors must check in at the campus front office. Throughout the building, all students and staff members must have their badge visible and should also use primary entrances.
If a student violates the visitor check-in process and allows individuals to enter the campus through side doors and back doors, they will face the consequences. As of Wednesday, January 3, 2024, any student permitting individuals into the school without proper check-in or through the wrong door will face disciplinary consequences, which will result in a three-day out-of-school suspension and/or other measures deemed necessary by campus administration.
To maintain a safe and secure learning environment for all, we kindly request your support in reinforcing these security measures with your students. Please contact your student’s Assistant Principal if you have any questions or concerns. We appreciate your partnership in upholding our safety standards. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES MUST BE OUT OF SIGHT DURING THE DAY!
(Exception is Lunch and Advisory)
If seen - it will be taken up and can be retrieved at end of day for $15!
Plan Ahead for Spring Semester Final Exams!
This will be the SAME process as the Fall Final Exam Schedule!
SENIORS! Decision Day is Coming!
WE WANT TO CELEBRATE YOU! MUST COMPLETE SR YEAR END ACTIVITY TO GET TICKET!

This year, we will host all Graduation ceremonies indoors at the Fort Bend County Epicenter (28505 Southwest Freeway, Rosenberg, TX 77471). With a venue change, there is some important information provided below for all our guests who will attend:
$5 EPICENTER REQUIRED PARKING FEE
The Fort Bend County Epicenter will charge a $5 parking fee, which is a requirement from the venue and not Lamar CISD. Parking can be purchased at any entrance on the day of the Graduation ceremony or electronically using the links below. Credit cards will be the only acceptable form of payment, and cash will not be accepted. As parking is limited, we recommend families pay this fee ahead of Graduation Day. Any refunds must be handled directly with the venue.
ADDITIONAL FREE PARKING OPTIONS
If you do not want to pay the parking fee to the Fort Bend County Epicenter, we will provide complimentary shuttles for guests from Terry High School, George Junior High, and Navarro Middle School to the Fort Bend County Epicenter. These shuttles will start running 1.5 hours before every ceremony begins and run until 45 minutes after every ceremony concludes. The shuttle will drop off at the east entrance of the Fort Bend County Epicenter.
