Blue Devil Acceptance to Howard, UMBC, and Offered Acheivers Merit Scholarship
This week, we recognize senior Gabriel Gyasse's achievement in being accepted to Howard University's Computer Science Program and his recognition as an Achievers Merit Scholar. Gab is also a semifinalist for Howard's premier Karsh Stem Scholars Program, which works to bolster the number of underrepresented minorities earning their Ph.D. in STEM; this scholarship covers 75% - 100% tuition. Simultaneously, Gab has been accepted into UMBC's Pre-Computer Science Program. Gyasse awaits several monetary awarding programs that focus on increasing the number of underrepresented groups in technology and cybersecurity.
Blue Devil Receives Presidential Scholarship
Congratulations to senior Morgan Brooks on being awarded the Coppin State University Presidential Scholarship! This remarkable accomplishment is a testament to her distinguished academic record. Presidential Scholar awardees must have a significant record of leadership and service to their school and communities. Presidential Scholars will engage in specialized programs and activities throughout their four years to enhance the college experience and prepare them to compete for post-graduation. This scholarship covers tuition, room and board, books, and additional monetary funds. Morgan plans to major in social work and looks forward to using her strengths and talents to advocate for and improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities.
Blue Devil Accepted into Aim High Flight Academy
Junior Juliana Munoz's acceptance into the Aim High Flight Academy (AHFA) at South Dakota State University is definitely a cause for joyous recognition. AHFA is an aviation scholarship for a three-week summer introductory flight program at various universities across the world. The mission of the AHFA is to inform, influence, and inspire the next generation of aviators and leaders. After completion of the AHFA, students will understand the pathways to become an Air Force officer, aviator, and earn up to 15 flight hours. AHFA pairs high school students, USAFA, and AFROTC cadets with current Air Force members who provide mentorship about the various aviation professions and career fields. Juliana's accomplishment inspires us to strive for excellence.
