Be a Difference Maker
October 23, 2020
From the Principal...
Hello Seton Families,
Parent-Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching. On October 29 and October 30 teachers will be available to meet either virtually or by phone. Please sign up for a time slot on the following SignUp Geniuses. When you sign up, please add a comment that indicates whether you would like to meet via Zoom or phone call. The teacher will then reach out to you with the appropriate information based on your choice. There will be no face to face conferences at this time to maintain the safety of all of our staff and families.

A couple of additional reminders:
- We have an early release day on Thursday, Oct. 29 for conference preparation. This is a 12:30 dismissal. There is no bus service at that time and no aftercare on early release days. Please make sure that your child knows what his or her plan is for the day.
- There is no school on Friday, Oct. 30 for conferences.
- The trimester ends on November 25.
Thank you again for your patience and positivity as we move through this challenging school year. We continue to pray for the health and safety of all of our Seton families. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Nardi, Principal
Make a Difference for the Wisconsin Humane Society
The Wisconsin Humane Society has put out a call for help. Please consider assisting Seton Catholic in our goal to be Difference Makers this year. We would like to make a difference by answering the Humane Societies need for cloth face masks. Please see their appeal below.
It has been nearly six months since we sent out our initial request for masks and we are truly grateful for your support! We find ourselves in a position where we once again need to ask for your help, as many of the masks are beginning to show signs of wear, and our mask supply is low.
All WHS staff and guests are required to wear masks in our buildings in an effort to keep our team and others safe as we support animals and the people who love them. Guests who come to WHS are provided with a mask if they do not have one.
We are currently seeking donations of face masks. They can be masks that you purchased or if you’re super crafty, we can also accept homemade masks. Your donation of face masks will ensure that our front-line staff at all of our locations can stay healthy so that our animal care operations keep going.
Beginning on Monday, October 19 Seton School will be collecting face masks for the Wisconsin Humane Society. If you have a donation, please send it to school and it will
be placed in the donation box outside the school office. We will continue
to accept donations until November 6. After that the donations will be
delivered to the Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus.
In your Friday Folder, you will find instructions on how to make a mask if you are
feeling crafty.
Pizza Pick Up Day
If your family participated in the Hansen's Pizza/Cherrydale Fundraiser, please save the date for pickup of your items:
Monday October 26th, 3:00-5:00
Location: School Parking Lot
There will be helpers available to assist you in carrying boxes to your vehicle.
If you are unable to pick up your items, please arrange for someone else to pick up during this time, as we are unable to store the boxes of frozen food items at school. If you are unsure if you have items that need to be picked up, please email Home & School at: homeandschool@sheboyganseton.org
We also are looking for some help with unloading the delivery truck and distributing orders to families. If you are able to help, please sign up below. And dress accordingly, as we'll be outside (and don't forget your mask).

Announcement Regarding 2020-2021 Winter Athletics
After careful thought and much discussion about the upcoming winter basketball season, the principals of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Christ Child Academy, and St. John the Baptist School have made the difficult decision to forgo participation in league basketball this school year.
As COVID-19 positive cases continue to increase in Sheboygan County, and the trajectory projecting the numbers to rise for some time, we must prioritize the health and safety of our students, staff, and families. We truly understand this decision may cause disappointment, but we strongly believe that these measures taken now will have the greatest success of decreasing risk to the whole community.
In these challenging times, we pray you are staying healthy and safe.
$1 Dress Up Days
Home & School will be sponsoring "Dollar Dress-Up Days" each month. To participate, bring in $1.00 to dress the theme for that month. All money raised will go towards the additions for the playground. This month's theme will be "Halloween.” Dress in your favorite Halloween attire (no costumes please) on Thursday, October 29.
Thank You and Please Remember...
I am happy to report that we are still doing well under the current health crisis. Thank you for your patience and for your consideration for our school community.
I want to send out a couple of quick reminders as COVID numbers in the state continue to rise.
If a member of your household has symptoms or is being tested for COVID, do not send any of the household children to school until that family member has been cleared. The children may attend virtually.
If your child is required to isolate due to symptoms, Seton School does not require a COVID test for his/her return. We require a note or email from the child's physician that clears the child for return to school. This may mean that your child is required to stay home for 10-14 days. Please do not call your physician stating that school needs a test.
Keep in mind that a COVID test can be taken too early. A test taken right after exposure may not actually mean you are negative. Please consult your physician.
Please understand that Seton School is regulated by laws that prohibit us from sharing the personal medical information of any staff or students. If there is any exposure or positive cases at Seton School, you will receive notification. Do not call or message asking about the medical status of staff or students.
Masks are required daily. Please be sure that your child comes prepared to school with a clean and well-fitting mask each day. We are seeing many more students with masks that fall off or with no mask at all. Staying safe and healthy is a team effort.
Thank you for helping us stay safe, healthy, and open. Please let Dr. Nardi know if you have questions regarding any of the reminders above. Have a wonderful day.
Almost Out of Time...
We have just one week left to order Difference Maker t-shirts to support our service efforts this school year. As a special incentive, for every t-shirt ordered before the sale close date on Oct. 29 students will receive a five-day jeans/sweats punch card to be used throughout the school year.
If you already ordered t-shirts, you will receive punch cards in your Friday packets. Thank you for all of your support.

Quilt Raffle to Benefit Seton Catholic
Friends of Seton,
A few months ago, a group of ladies were thinking about a way to make some money for Seton School during this pandemic. What they collaborated on was making some very beautiful throws and raffle off. To give everyone a chance on winning we decided to make it a simple raffle with a very reasonable price tag. So, as you can see we have had some very talented ladies make 14 unique and beautiful throws that measure 48 by 60 with the exception on one wall hanging.
We have available 500 books to sell which all can purchase from October 12 to the 29th. We will accept stubs in the Sunday collections of October 31 and November 1. The 29th was selected because that is the last day of school for October. The best part of this raffle is you can select the letter of the quilt you would like us to put your stub in because we WILL have 14 different drawings. one for each quilt. Additional tickets will be available during the week at Holy Name of Jesus Parish and St. Dominic Parish offices.
Drawing will be on Veterans day November 11th and winners will be called.
Representatives will be in the back of all three Parishes on the October 18th weekend to hand out packs of tickets that will be in a self-addressed envelope to Seton School so that you can seal and mail tickets and checks (to Seton School) or drop in Parish offices or Parish collections.
If this goes well, we will do it again in the spring and I will be looking for additional quilters, too.
Say a prayer that this goes well and help us support Catholic Education
