Books for Bike
Attention all 2nd grade families!!! Students will the opportunity to win a bike through reading books and turning in their reading logs. One bike will be given away. See more information below.
How it Works:
Students will fill out a reading log for every 100 minutes.
For each log they turn in, their name gets put in the drawing
Who: For all 2nd grade students
Timeline
Send first log/note home on Friday 3/29
There are no set dates to turn in logs. When a student gets one full, they get to turn it in and start another one. The more they complete, the more their name is in the drawing.
Last day to turn in any logs would be Friday April 26th
Bike winner will be announced the week of April 29th
Mileage Club Volunteer Sign up
Beginning on Monday, April 8th we are in need of at least three volunteers every M/W/F to help the kids keep track of miles by marking cards as they complete laps around the Fairview Playground. You will be tracking laps, cheering them on, giving high fives, and getting students excited about Mileage Club. Time: 11:40-12:20 MWF
Location: Fairview Elementary Playground
Arrival: Plan to meet about 5 min. before recess (11:35). Please check in at the office before walking to the playground.
Mileage Club Clothing
This is a reminder that Fairview Elementary implements rules regarding appropriate student attire for outdoor recess based on temperature conditions. We kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring your child is dressed accordingly. Adherence to these guidelines is expected for all students, including those participating in the Mileage Club program.
Temperature Guidelines:
- If the "feels like" temperature is 59°F (15°C) or below, students are required to wear a coat.
- If the "feels like" temperature is between 60°F (15.6°C) and 69°F (20.6°C), students must wear either a sweatshirt or long-sleeved clothing.
- If the "feels like" temperature is 70°F (21.1°C) or higher, coats and long sleeves are not required.
Your support in following these guidelines is greatly appreciated as we aim to ensure the health, safety, and comfort of our students during outdoor activities.

Fairview Elementary Morning Drop-Off Hours
Parents and guardians are reminded that the designated morning drop-off times for students are from 7:30 a.m. to 7:55 a.m. For safety reasons, students will not be permitted to enter the school building prior to 7:30 a.m. as the doors will remain locked until that time.
Please refrain from dropping off students before the 7:30 a.m. start time.
We appreciate your cooperation in following these procedures to ensure a safe and orderly morning routine.
