School Wide Focus
Priority #2 - No Opt Out Academics
During our last priority walkthrough we saw many classrooms with their exemplars in hand, providing scholars their codes, and teachers taking their laps!! Awesome work taking the key learnings from our AgMo PD and running with them. Our next steps are to push our response to data and understanding what parts of the day to utilize AgMo.
Data trackers should be utilized during Guided Reading (not evident in all rooms)
Intervening whole class if data suggests (both the AT and Lead should collect data)
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to your coaches for support or clarification!
Weekly Data Meetings
Kinder will be our last WDM of Quarter 2 on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd. Thank you everyone for your commitment to this focus area and the amazing gains we have seen from scholars is due to your selection of the right sized reteach model. Keep up the amazing work!! We're looking forward to our next Data Day on Dec. 20th to quantify the total growth we have have seen and cannot wait to continue WDMs in Quarter 3.
Deans of Academics
Kindergarten and 2nd Grade RTI Group Leaders
Please remember to implement any changes to RTI that you decided if scholars weren’t making growth in Tier 3. It is important that we implement with fidelity as you are a vital part of our scholar’s future in closing the knowledge gap for these scholars in the bottom percentiles.
Schedule Change
If you plan to make any temporary changes to your daily schedule please remember to inform your coaches. We schedule observations and our support time based off the master schedule. If you are running significantly behind or need to make an adjustment just provide your coach a heads up so that we can provide support or reschedule.
Dean of Culture
Focus of the Week
This week let’s go GO WILD for 100% and sweat the small things. Let’s keep the bar high for all scholars and classroom culture. Absolutely no talking while the teacher or the speaker is talking. Giving logical consequences and going up and down the ladder to address every unmet expectation. This week is Habit 4: Think Win-Win and our animal is a Zebra! Zebras work together in a herd to survive. This week as educators let’s work effectively with others to achieve optimal results. Let's all embody this week’s habit!
Paycheck Party
The next paycheck party will be either Dec 6th or 13th . We are waiting to finalize the “Going Wild” theme reward from the Nashville Zoo who will be bringing animals to our campus. How exciting!! We will provide more details and a finalized date soon.
This week’s WIG WINNER IS...
ATTENDANCE
Dean of SEL
We are wrapping up our unit on safe bodies. Hopefully your scholars have learned how to keep themselves and others safe. Please send me any scholars that you think would benefit from a growth mindset small group after Thanksgiving break.
The first mental health parent night on Wednesday was very helpful! Parents were asking questions about discipline at home, and counseling services for themselves. I got some good suggestions for future nights as well!
LIM
Our focus for the next two weeks will be think win-win. Try to find a solution that helps everyone. Compromise helps our brains grow and change.
Talk through a problem until there is a solution everyone likes
If a solution cannot be reached, decide on no deal and take a break from the situation.
Secret Santa
It is a Secret Santa time! If you wish to participate, please click the link below to sign up and build your wish list by the evening of Sunday, November 24th . Below is a screenshot of what the wish list page looks like. Please disregard the left side with the pre picked gifts and create your own original list on the right side of the screen. After everyone has signed up, you will get an email letting you know whose name you have and then you will be access to their wish list. As a Secret Santa, you will spread Holiday Cheer by delivering small gifts (like candy, etc) the week of December 6th and December 13th. Then, you will do a big reveal with a final gift on December 20th during PD. Please keep it a secret until then (get creative in your deliveries!). As a guideline plan to spend $20 on your Secret Santa. Let Tiffany Johnson know if you have any questions!
