We had a wonderful week of school. The Boosterthon Fun Run is in full swing. They are doing character lessons with us each day. They are so well done and so engaging. The kids will receive their t-shirts the day of the Fun Run and will put them on at school.
We had a great time with our mystery reader, Precious' mom! Thank you for sharing some fun books and your time.
Here is a heads up about some supplies needed after Thanksgiving break:
HOLIDAY CRAFT SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Second grade will be making a special holiday craft when we return from Thanksgiving Break. While you are out and about, please look for the following items:
Please send in 1 full yard of cotton, holiday print fabric by Nov. 28th. You might want to check Hobby Lobby or Joann’s Fabrics for coupons! 100% cotton works best for this project so please avoid heavy cloth that is difficult to cut. In fact, during the process, students are ripping the fabric by hand. Your child may pick any color winter or holiday print they prefer.
Students will also need 1 metal, bendable coat hanger. The sturdier ones work best.
Also, please send in one tall, regular size , empty Pringles can with the plastic lid. Please wash out the can and dry.
Have a wonderful weekend!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Language Arts-We read I Need My Monster this week. The focus was on making personal connections to a story. The kids also read Officer Buckle and Gloria. They took their first comprehension test over the story. We did lots of writing and practiced finding proper nouns.
Social Studies-We learned that Nov 3 is Stephen F Austin Day in Texas. Ask your kiddo all about who he was and why it is important.
