Introduction:
My name is Caitlyn Lloyd, I am a 16 year old student scientist. Me and my fellow scientist have been working hard to find the secret for using nuclear fusion and I believe we have found it! Read more about our research below.

How Nuclear Fusion Creates Energy:
The fusion reaction that is easiest to accomplish is the reaction between two hydrogen isotopes, when the nuclei fuse together they form helium nucleus, a neutron, and energy.
Safety Concerns:
*Waste is radioactive for 50-100 years
*Could be used in a Nuclear Bomb!
*Meltdowns are not possible (good thing)
Economic Impact:
- Fuel costs for nuclear plants are a minor proportion of total generating costs, though capital costs are greater than those for coal-fired plants.
- Fusion research including ITER construction is less than $2 billion a year
