Amputations from falling rocks and accidents with tools and machines might do this to you. Black lungs from coal dust in your lungs will leave you to short breath of air, and your spit will turn black. Nystagmus from years of working in poor light will make your eyes roll painfully around. Beat-up knees from years of kneeling and crawling, your knees will be swollen and sore. Their are many different ways to suffer from coal mining, but the most ways coal miners die is by dealdy gas such as poisonous choke-damp, is mostly carbon dioxide, an invisible killer.
