Hinduism Is more than a belief but rather a way of life it is one of the world's biggest religions
Hinduism was founded in India by a group called the Aryans thousands of years ago and the religion spread through out the world. There are three main holy books the Vedas
The Bhagavad Gītā and the Upanishads. The Vedas is the one of the most important and oldest holy books.
The Hindu religion is polytheistic meaning they believe in more than one God.
There are three main ideas in understanding the Hindu religion, the first one is reincarnation, every person and living thing on earth have a soul and when the person dies their soul only moves on to a different body.
The second major idea is karma, karma is believed that every action brings certain results, And lastly Dharma, dharma is more of a way of life than a believe.
Dharma is a set of rules that each living person has to follow in order to work their way up the reincarnation ladder.
In Hinduism there is a such thing called a caste system begin more than three thousands years ago, the caste system basically divided he Indians into hereditary groups Brahmin, kashatriya, Vaisya, shura and the untouchables. The three highest groups are the Brahmin kashatriya and Vaisya, the fourth is shura and the lowest one is the untouchables the main idea of the caste system is because they thought that people were born unequal.
Moksha is like heaven but for Hindus, in order to conquer Moksha you have to have a deep devotion for religion and you may have many lifetimes before you can achieve moksha.
Practicing Hinduism affects the life it's followers because they have to be careful of what they say, think and or do and they have to be really devoted to the religion and they have to eat certain things and they aren't allowed to eat meats and for those who are at the bottom of the caste system are treated differently than everyone else, and for those who don't want to be reincarnated into an animal they watch their actions and behave respectfully.
