TO DO:
HOME:
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. You may email me at wbach@ccisd.net, My conference time is from 11:55-12:40. Feel free to call or schedule an appointment during this time.
OOPS! PIN pad practice sheets were not sent home this week, but will next week. We are already seeing quite a number of lunch buyers, so I'll be sure to get them home next week.
Accidents do occur in kindergarten, so if you have not already included these, pack extra clothes in your child's backpack. These clothes may be left in a plastic bag in your child's cubby throughout the school year for your convenience.
Remember to join PTA by paying your $10.00 dues to support our school.
FUN AT SCHOOL!
ANDY AND THE MONSTER
Coming home today is a sequence page your child finished after reading and discussing Andy and the Monster. Afterwards we wrote class rules. Please read the note from
Ms. Bach about it. We are working on staying in our spots on the carpet, keeping our hands to ourselves and being a good listener.
SCIENCE IS FUN!
Does your Kindergartner want to be a scientist?
What is a scientist and how does a scientist stay safe were two questions we answered in the lab this week.
*On Monday, we rotated through 4 science activities all while wearing our safety goggles: We practiced using magnifying glasses as we looked at different plastic bugs. We transferred water from one plastic cup to another with pipettes. We weighed a heavy rock against the combined weight of smaller rocks on a primary balance scale. We practiced using tweezers to explore things in our treasure boxes. We colored a picture of our "scientist" selves and glued in some of the science tools we used in our Science Journal.
*On Thursday, with safety goggles on, we talked about good and bad germs and did an experiment where we pretended green glitter were germs stuck on our hands. We finally decided that the soap and water worked the best to get off germs and keep us healthy.
THINGS TO DO AT HOME WITH YOUR KINDERGARTNER:
*Practice their PIN number.
*Practice writing your first name with an uppercase letter and lowercase letters.
*Practice identifying your letters and letter sounds.
*Practice counting to 21 forwards and backwards while moving objects from a pile. Pennies, beans, and even Skittles or M&M's are good for this.
*Practice tying your shoes.
