CMS School Governance Council parent representatives needed
It is time for the election of new members to our School Governance Council. The School Governance Council has both parent/guardian and teacher positions open for election. Parents or guardians of students who will be attending our school during both the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years are eligible to run for the parent/guardian SGC positions. CMS will have two parent positions open for the upcoming year.
Our School Governance Council (SGC) plays a critical role in the success of our school. The SGC works with school leadership and the community to help determine the long-term direction of the school, design innovative solutions to increase academic achievement, and serve as school ambassadors to the local community. Specifically, the School Governance Council has the following powers:
- Create, approve, and monitor the implementation of the school strategic plan • Manage the Request for Flexibility process • Approve the annual budget recommendations and related allocations • Participate in the hiring of the principal, in the case of a vacancy • Provide annual feedback to the Area Superintendent on principal performance
- If you are interested in running for a position on the School Governance Council, please complete and submit a Parent/Guardian Candidate Declaration Form. Forms will be available on Monday, February 5th by visiting https://www.fultonschools.org/Page/7358
- We are very excited about the work and value-add of our SGC. We hope that you will consider running for a position! The Candidate Declaration period ends March 29th and voting will take place April 17 – April 24.
Current 6th & 7th grade course recommendations for 2024-2025
Please be advised that the course verification process will begin in March. The first round of verifications will take place March 8th-15th. Instructions for viewing course requests, verifying those requests, as well as information around connections courses will be sent out on March 1st.

Donate Today to the Spring Break Drive
Huskies Helping Huskies assists CMS students and families in need with school supplies, toiletries, snacks, meals, and other urgent requests.
We are currently requesting donations to support our families during the upcoming SPRING BREAK (April 1-5). Most of our HHH students receive breakfast and lunch at school, so we aim to fill this need during the break. Your financial support of the drive allows families to receive a WALMART gift card for household needs and a gift card to enjoy a fun outing (movies, mini golf, Stars & Strikes, etc.) Donate any amount today via Venmo or PayPal. With the help of the Interact Club, we are also collecting donations of laundry detergent for each family. We appreciate your support!
Interested in helping even more? Our team is looking for new members to assist with fundraising, social media marketing, grant writing, accounting, and more. If you'd like to get involved, send a note to Kristi Glickman at kglickm@gmail.com.
