Plot
The book title is Thirteen Reasons Why and takes place in a small hometown. it takes place in the past and the present. Also has flashbacks of Hannah's past. the main conflict definitely is that Hannah Baker committed suicide and sent out tapes of her explaining why she had done it. Also explains who it involves. The book starts with Clay Jensen sending out the tapes to the next person after he finished listening to them himself.
Character
The main character is Hannah Baker. Three words to explain Hannah are caring, nice and smart. Hannah is motivated by her parents, they were always there for her with everything. Secondly, she knew she was going to die so she had nothing to worry about besides leaving everyone. Thirdly, clay motivated her because they both liked each other and the way Clay talked to her made her think more. i really like Hannah because shes outgoing and different than everyone else. she isn't afraid of what she has to say or do. the relationship between Hannah Baker and Clay Jensen are they were always friends and smiled at each other but they were a thing at a party once. Ever since then Clay hasn't stopped thinking about her.
Theme
The theme of this story is never be mean to someone, you never know where that can lead to. One example, Hannah thought the only happy place she could go to was heaven. She thought this because of the way people treated her. another example, people ended up on taped of Hannah which was dead now because they were mean to her in some way. Thirdly, Hannah' s parents moved away heartbroken from what other kids said about her daughter, that caused Hannah to do what she did. Finally, everyone is heartbroken and upset that she committed suicide even though a lot of them had to do with it.
Evaluation

This book does connect to teenagers because many people including teens committee suicide. There's also guy problems and friend relationships that have problems too. So yes therefore, teenagers can connect to this book.
