Children at Risk Group Unveils San Antonio's Top School Districts
9TH GRADE TSI TESTING
Parents,
We are working toward completing TSI testing for all 9th grade students beginning with the Writing Exam. Currently we are at 50% in testing for the Writing portion. All 9th grade students must be tested in Writing, Reading and Math before taking their first set of college classes in January.
The 9th grade team will be reaching out to you child to sign them up for testing this Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9-12 PM if they have NOT already tested. We are in need of your support to sign up your child to TSI test, either at the campus or online. Ninth grade students tested face to face on Oct. 24th at Travis and were very successful. If they choose face to face, they will need to bring their school issued laptop/charger. Testing will take place in the cafeteria. If they choose online, a teacher can only test 5 students at a time. Online testing will mean students will sign up on a first come first serve basis until the next round of testing.
Thank you parents and guardians for all your support. We couldn’t do this without you!
After the Writing TSI exam, we move on to the TSI Reading Test, then Math.
Sincerely,
Adrianna L. Arredondo
Travis ECHS Principal
9TH GRADE PARENT CONSENT FORM
Parents,
We are in the process of preparing 9th grade students for college in January. At this time, we are still missing 30+ High School Programs Student/Parent Consent Forms.
The counselor is currently reaching out to you to ensure the form filled out, signed and returned to KAntoine1@saisd.net or JRatnayek1@saisd.net. Please ensure that forms are returned as soon as possible. A copy has been provided for you.

SENIOR REQUIREMENTS
- Submit one 4-year college application
- Submit financial aid form (FAFSA/TASFA).
- Submit & verify of at least 1 scholarship application. (DELL-DUE by Dec. 1)
Schedule to meet with Ms. Fuentes for questions and clarification PRIOR to submitting any of the above.
The DELL Scholarship is open for completion. It is worth $20,000, a Dell laptop, and many college perks. Last year, the Class of 2020 had historic numbers of qualifiers (80), applicants (42), semifinalists (25), and finalists/awardees (12) for a total $240,000 for Travis seniors to use at any US university. Our 12 finalists broke a national record, as Travis was recognized among a handful of schools in the nation with more than 10 finalists from a single high school.
You, the Class of 2021, have the opportunity to surpass this amount, as your class has higher/better academic credentials and more of you have the opportunity to apply by the Dec 1st deadline. (Remember about 50% of last year’s qualified seniors actually applied for DELL, and I reviewed every applicant’s writing from last year’s 42 applicants.)
Therefore, you stand a better chance in the DELL Scholarship competition than you think, so look over the scholarship qualifications and APPLY FOR DELL SCHOLARSHIP. I will host a presentation and several opportunities for your application/writing to be reviewed. Start working on the application now (it’s not long) and don’t wait for the last minute, as the Class of 2020 did.
I must personally review your completed application at least one time after you complete it to ensure it is a competitive application. Please complete the DELL application in a timely manner and allow me to do a final review of it during November before Thanksgiving week (by 11/19). (Applications will not be reviewed during Thanksgiving break. J )
