Forest of Reading
The Forest of Reading books are in. They are on display in the Learning Commons. I will be sending out a flyer for you to share with your students. The books are restricted to teachers for the first week. I was planning on sharing the Blue Spruce books with the classes that I have for prep coverage. If you would rather read them to your class please let me know. I also have a booklet for the Blue Spruce readers to complete. I will email it to the K-2 teachers. If you want me to copy and put the booklets together for you please let me know the number of copies that you would like.
Extra Books
Thanks to everyone who has come and gotten some books. There are still many books left. I will be leaving them out for the next week or so. Please come down and help yourself. Just choose your books. Leave them with me and I'll sign them out of the collection and have them delivered to your classroom.
Michael Wade will be visiting us
On the afternoon of May 7th Michael Wade, the author of the "and then it Happened" series, will be visiting our school. He will be talking to the Gr. 4-6 students and then to the Gr. 7-8 students. I will be sending out info to go home to parents. Students will be able to pre-order books. More info to follow.
I am looking into bringing in an author for Primary Students as well.
Open Commons
I am currently working on a schedule for classes to come down to the Learning Commons and work. Open commons is a time when I am available to work with students in small groups or we can co-teach.
Indpendent work - I am putting passes into your mailboxes along with a schedule. The available periods are when you can send down individual students or small groups of students to work independently and I am available to supervise.
