What was the change?
Many people criticized the Church practices. Martin Luther was the first to criticize the Church with his 95 theses, attacking the Church. People started to rebell against the Church and the leaders of the Church, claiming they were corrupt. In the late 1300s and early 1400s, two men by the name John Wycliffe and Jan Hus advocated Church reform.
Who helped ?
Martin Luther was the main person associated with the change. With his 95 thesis and many statements of criticism, it led many people to follow him in his protest aginst the church. Priest and Monks were also associated with the change with there braking of vows, adding to to reasons to criticize the church and reform. Christian humanist like Desiderius Erasmus and Thomas More added their opinions to the criticism. Guttenberg went to the printing press to copy the 95 thesis helping cause the reform.
How it impacted society?
Martin luther put the 95 theses on the door of the church down grading it. Guttenberg went to the printing press and the word started to spread. People started questioning the church and the Popes, Preist , and Monks. Europe was ripe for reform by the early 1500s.
How is change seen in todays modern society?
Without the reformation it would have never led to the founding of the Protestant Church. The printing press would have never been invented though it was used to put down the Church. Today priest is put up to high expectations. The printing press is used all over the world.
