"Where it's always a good day to be a Bison!"
News from Mrs. Marlatt!
Dear parents and guardians,
This edition of the BisoNews is full of important information. Please take a few minutes to read it all. I hope to see you at one of the events we will be holding outside for students!
Parent-Teacher Connections (conferences) are taking place this week and next. All meetings are virtual. I was able to participate in a few yesterday. It is wonderful to talk about student progress and setting goals for their learning!
As I walk the hallways, visit classrooms and welcome parents and student in the morning, it is clear to me students are mostly excited to come to school and participate in the learning. Thank you for getting your student to school everyday, ready to learn and on time!
Thank you for sharing your children with us!

During our Fun Run, you will also have a few more opportunities:
1. Did you know our school boundaries will change? Elementary School #14 is being built and this will cause a change in boundaries. I am a part of the team that is working on redesigning the boundaries in order to present options to our Superintendent. We will have boards with the proposed boundary changes for you to see and ask questions.
2. We still need you to take the Parent Survey. We will have computers set up for you to do this. You can also save some time and take it right now! Just click on the link below.
3. Our Lost and Found is overflowing. We will send everything to the Goodwill at the end of the month. Please take a moment to check for lost items before we clear everything!
Halloween Celebrations
Staff and students will celebrate Halloween with classroom parties starting at 2:30pm. Due to our district's Covid layers of protection, we are unable to allow parents in for the parties. However, we are excited invite all parents to come watch the Halloween parade outside. Students will walk around the school in their costumes (weather permitting) and parents can line up on the sidewalks and cheer their little Halloweeners on! Please read below:
Parade starts at 3:00pm
Students will start the parade by exiting the front doors and turning to the right. We will start with 5th grade and end with Kindergarten.
Students will participate in the parade with backpacks - they will leave after the parade.
If your student usually returns home by bus but you are coming to the parade and prefer to pick up your student, please call the office (720-685-7555) the day before (October 28th) to make arrangements.
Teachers will have a sign out sheet once the parade is over. You can sign your student out without having to come inside the school.
Tips for a good time on 10/29
- Come early and plan for our very small parking lot.
- Please do not park on the handicap spaces unless you have a handicap license.
- Please line the sidewalks on the outside (see picture below and look for the red Xs). Students will exit to start the parade from the front doors and to the right. They will then go all the way around the school.
- The parade will exit where each grade level dismisses. You can pick up your student as usual.
Scholastic Book Fair
A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Jake and all of the parents who volunteered for the Book Fair. We had a wonderful turn out and holding the sales outside was a great idea!
