Little Prairie Primary School
March 2024
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Little Prairie families,
Happy March! As was previously communicated, Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for March 7th and March 12th from 3:15-7:15. Communication went out inviting you to sign up for conferences. Thank you to those who have already signed up. If you have not signed up, please do so through Skyward Family Access. We highly recommend that you take the time to conference with your child’s classroom teacher. Additionally, our Elementary PTO will also be running a Spring Literati Book Fair at both of our elementary schools on both conference nights.
Hopefully Spring is in the air, therefore it is time to start thinking about a new group of students joining our learning community in the fall. Registration for 4K students or new 5K students (who are not currently attending 4K) will take place online and is open now. If you have any questions, please call the Little Prairie office at 642-6730 x2221.
Additionally, in preparation for the 2024 - 2025 school year, the East Troy Community School District will offer families two options for instructional delivery - in-person instruction and Rural Virtual Academy (RVA), for those interested in a virtual option. A letter explaining these options was sent to families in early February. This letter included key dates for enrollment in RVA. Families who are interested in RVA must add their student’s name to the student/family interest list as soon as possible. Returning RVA students and their siblings are considered first for enrollment. It is suggested that families who are interested in this option, add their name to the above list as soon as possible due to potential space limitations.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to the last trimester of the year.
Focused on growth for all students,
Lindsey Harris, Principal
March's PBIS theme is PROBLEM SOLVING!
**We are working towards our next school-wide reward of “Block Party”
** Just a friendly reminder about completing a bucket drop and sending it to school when you catch your child showing “bucket filling” behavior at home.
**Don’t forget to wear your school shirts on Mondays.
**A big thanks to Marcus Theatres: Student Motivation Program for donating two-for-one movie passes (with complimentary soft drinks). When students return “bucket filling drops” for demonstrating bucket-filling behavior at home and in the community, they will receive a movie pass. Additional copies of the “bucket filling drops” can be found here.

ALL students need an extra pair of clothes in their backpack or in their cubby. If your child gets muddy or wet at recess, spills on their clothes at lunch, or has a potty accident, we cannot guarantee we will have clothes for them to change into. PLEASE send an extra pair of clothes with your child to keep at school to help them remain comfortable in these uncomfortable situations.

Through this FREE presentation by Dr. Mervin Langley of Aurora Behavioral Health,
information will be shared regarding what defiance is, how parental/school staff responses
can impact defiant behavior, and how to successfully understand, manage, and reduce
behaviors through effective strengths-based strategies. The strategies are geared towards
children ages 4-15, but parents and school staff with older or younger children may also
