COVID Announcements and Reminders
Learning Model Announcement (11-2 to 11-27)
Dear ROCORI Families:
After meeting with our Emergency Planning Team and School Board last evening ROCORI Schools has made these decisions:
ROCORI Schools will stay in the same Learning Model of Hybrid PK-5 and Hybrid 6-12 thru November 27th. PK-5 students will continue to come to school daily and 6-12 students will follow the A/B schedule.
ROCORI Schools did make two calendar adjustments in November. November 6th will be a staff only day for further preparation and planning. Students will not have school on November 6th.
On November 20th, all students will be at home learning for the day. More details will come from your student's teachers and buildings principals soon. The goal of November 20th will be to practice our distance learning model should it be necessary to implement.
Making decisions about kids and staff being in school during COVID is not easy and there is NO right answer. The information on how the plan for November was reached is found here on our website. In summary, ROCORI acknowledges that the rise in cases throughout the county and community is a concern, but the low rate of transmission in schools suggests kids are safer in school following COVID protocols than in the community. The plan for November is supported by Stearns County Health, our EPT team, Administration and the School Board.
As always, things can change quickly, and we will adjust if needed based on the health of our students and staff.

COVID Reminders
- Practice social distancing
- Wear masks
- Check your health daily
- Clean and Disinfect high touch surfaces
- Stay home if you are sick
Thank you for your cooperation in these precautions!
ROCORI Public Schools can accept open enrollment for students in certain grade levels for the 2020-2021 school year
The first month of school is now over and our enrollment has been consistent. At this time we have limited room for enrollment in Kindergarten, 1st grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade. Please note that at the elementary level you will be assigned to a building that has room. We have limited room at the middle school in grades 6 and 7 and limited room in the HS grades 9-12. Please contact the Cold Spring Elementary office (grades K-5) or the ROCORI Secondary office (grades 6-12) to see if your child will fit into the open programming.
Spartan Online School
The Spartan Online School for ROCORI is excited to announce we have 150 students K-12 participating for the first Tri-mester. This has been an exciting opportunity for families, students, and staff to enhance our technology, create a positive leaning environment, and provide a flexible learning for our ROCORI students.
A reminder to families, if you would like to transition from online back to in person or from in person to online for Tri-mester 2, please communicate with Stephanie Ruegemer the Director of Spartan Online by Friday, November 13th. The district would like to be able to plan ahead to ensure your child has a smooth transition.
If you have a student you want to enroll or have any questions, please contact Stephanie Reugemer at reugemers@rocori.k12.mn.us or 320-685-4908.
