KIA ORA VOGELTOWN WHANAU
We hope you all had a lovely Easter break. It is always a little strange coming back to school for a short week, although we definitely made sure the past few days have been actioned packed with learning, ballet, gym sport practice, syndicate assemblies, kapa haka, Mandarin lessons and more!
Next week is our last week of this term, and what a term it has been. As always, we aim to provide our tamariki with as many opportunities to grow and learn as we can. A friendly reminder, that in Week 1 of Term 2 we have our learning conferences. These can be booked on the Skool Loop app and are a great time to come into the classrooms to see your child/ren's learning and chat to their teacher. School will finish at 2pm on both these days however we will be providing supervision in the school hall until 3pm.
A huge thank you goes out to our Home and School committee. At their meeting on Thursday night, they have kindly offered to support our Paetoki syndicate with a trip to the movies to see 'The Mountain', which stars some past and present Vogeltowners. What an amazing trip this will be.
Have a great weekend, whānau. We will see you back here on Monday for the last week of Term 1.
Aroha nui,
Mrs Seed and the VS team
HOODS UP WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday 26th April (next Wednesday) we are asking everyone to wear a hoodie and wear the ‘hood up’. This is in support of Autism NZ. If you can provide a gold coin to support the great work that Autism NZ does, that would be awesome too! We are also going to participate in the hour of silence from 10am to 11am. Let’s hope we are all up for this challenge!

SCHOOL GOAL THIS TERM - 'COURAGEOUS'
ROYAL NEW ZEALAND BALLET
On Friday, we were extremely lucky to have Neve from the Royal New Zealand Ballet, come to Vogeltown to share her ballet expertise with our Year 3-6 students.
What a wonderful experience this was. I am sure you will see some lovely leaping and twirling from these students tonight!
SCHOOLDOCS - VOGELTOWN POLICIES
Our school policies are in an online system through a portal called 'Schooldocs'. Any time you want to bring up a school policy, just log in to schooldocs and you can access the policies.
The login is: vogeltown

The website link to Schooldocs is below.
VOGELTOWN SCHOOL FEES/DONATION
A reminder to everyone that we do not ask for a school donation/fee at Vogeltown School. The Vogeltown Board opted in to the Ministry of Education donation scheme for 2024, which means we get paid a donation from the government and we do not ask families to contribute to any 'curriculum related' costs - including transport and events like Life Education.
More information can be found on the Ministry of Education's website.
