A dream destination for almost all kids in America, Disneyland, opened July 17, 1955. Known as the "metropolis of nostalgia, fantasy, and futurism," even the leader of Russia, during the Cold War, wanted to go.

Nikita Khrushchev in Disneyland
Khrushrev wanted to visit Disneyland, but after a dispute between the Twentieth Century Fox president Spyros P. Skouras who made a comment about capitalism that offended Khrushrev, things went downhill. Authorities were concerned about safety. Therefore, he didn't get to go.

The Cold War
The Cold War was between The Soviet Union and America due to the Americans concern of Russian communism and fear of expansion to world rule. The Soviets were also concerned with the way the US treated the USSR and the US's delayed entry into World War Two.
