Japanese IMPRISONED
By: Jill Lerner
A community
Based on this image, the Japanese camps look like a civilized, tamed environment. The picture shows the people washing their clothes, and getting work done together like they are all friends. These camps are portrayed like the Japanese are fortunate enough to have their own small typical neighborhood, in which they eat, work, and sleep together in peace
The Prisoners
In reality, these people were imprisoned at this camp. The worst part, was nobody even knew. Everyone thought that the Japanese were in a civilized, community. They were being held at these camps. To the government, their new life purpose was just to remain excluded from the rest of the country. They spent day after day, year after year, dreaming about their lives beyond the fence.
