El Dorado Monday Memo
Week 20 Jan 20th, 2020
#ToroFamily
Happy Monday (or Tuesday depending on when you're reading this). I hope you all had a restful three day weekend and I am sure we will all enjoy the short week ahead. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work you did in your PLCs last week on Wed and during our minimum day. I know we can all appreciate the challenges we have ahead of us but together we can do this good and meaningful work for our students. If you haven't shared your data chat sheet with us (Data & Purposes), please do so. We will have more time with this Wednesday being our long PLC meeting time. We will be sending out some information for Wed as we dig into the data. Have a great week and remember to be on the lookout for something you are grateful for this week.
Updates for the week...

Wednesday 1/22 PLC Meetings
You will have the 2 hours after school on Wed to meet in your PLCs. Please be sure to communicate what data you will be looking at and for what purpose.
Wednesday 1/22 LCAP Speaker Series

This Week in AVID...
This Week in AVID - January 20, 2020
In Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain, Zaretta Hammond (2015, p. 14) reminds us that “As educators, we have to recognize that we help maintain the achievement gap when we don’t teach advanced cognitive skills to students we label as “disadvantaged” because of their language, gender, race, or socioeconomic status.” AVID strategies are designed to support all students as they grow their inquiry skills. Try integrating one of these AVID collaborative structures into your planning this week!
