May the Lord Bless You & Keep You
Good Monday Afternoon Beloved,
What a wonderful and beautuful worship service our great God allowed us to have yesterday to celebrate Resurrection Sunday. We were blessed with music from Kristi Staples, our Contemporary Crew (Audrey Staples, Molly Moncrief, Victoria Smith, and Chanda Babbitt), Jeral Robinson, Judy Allen, Brenda Culp, and Billy Smith. Thank you so much for making our Easter Service so special.
There were many new faces and faces we hadn't seem in a long time with us yesterday. I can't thank each of you enough for being so loving and welcoming to our guests. We had almost 150 people at Mt. Carmel for our worship hour. It's always encouraging to see God bring so many to join us in worship.
As we looked to Jesus' last saying from the cross in Luke 23:44-46, we found Him saying, "Father, into your hands, I entrust my spirit." This was Jesus' Word of Turst.
From this Scripture we found that Jesus BROKE the BARRIER, was HEADING HOME, and DEFEATED DEATH. Jesus BROKE the BARRIER between God and humanity as the veil in the Temple of God was torn in two. This illustrated that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for all humanity was sufficient to bring God and man back together again.
When Jesus' work of atonement was complete, Jesus trusted the Heavenly Father with His spirit. Because Jesus' home wasn't this world, He was HEADING back to His rightful HOME with the Father in heaven. This truth is the same for you. Your true home isn't here in Tioga, Gunter, Pilot Point, Collinsville, Whitesboro, Southmayd, or Sadler. Your true home is with the Lord in heaven. Because of what Jesus has done for you and your faith in Him, Your rightful home is with Jesus in heaven.
And this is possible because Jesus DEAFEATED DEATH. Jesus was too powerful to be held by death. Instead of death swallowing Him up, He swallowed it up. He was the bigger fish. When you choose Jesus, you follow Him in death to self and resurrection of life. So, a Christian TRUSTS Jesus in this life and the next. A Chrisitan TRUSTS Jesus to be kept safe for heaven. A Christian TRUSTS Jesus with everything. As Jesus said, "Father, into your hands, I entrust my spirit" so, too should you say as a believing follower of Chist, "Jesus, into your hands, I entrust my life."
I pray you have a blessed week and Iook forward to being with you next Sunday as we celebrate all that the Lord did at the North Texas Easter Retreat.

I'd like to thank our sponsors who went with us. Thank you to: Allison Perry, Ashley Moncrief, Audrey Staples, Chanda Babbitt, Tiffne Whitley, Victoria Smith, Dallas Slay, Ethan Staples, Glenn Farmer, Joel Whitley, and Rick Staples. The retreat could not be a success with each one of these individuals coming together to serve and care for the students God brings us.
The retreat concluded Saturday morning and we were blessed to be honored with the "Sportsmanship" Award. This golden eagle trophy is the most coveted award of the retreat. Our group did a great job encouraging other students during recreation. We are blessed to receive this award.
Thank you to each of you that have supported our student minsitry by participating in our 5th Sunday Breakfasts, Spaghetti Bingo, and t-shirt sponsorships. It's amazing what the Lord can do with us when we all come together.
As much fun as we had at the Easter Retreat, there's a lot more fun coming for students at summer camp at Falls Creek, June 26th through July 1st. Details will be out next week about this.
