Classroom Happenings
Virtual Field Trips
This week, we visited L’antica Pizzeria in Naples, Italy. Julia Roberts ate pizza there in the movie Eat Pray Love. This pizzeria started 150 years ago, and has been family owned for five generations. It re-opened for carryout and delivery on Monday.
We also visited the country’s oldest state capital, Sante Fe, New Mexico. It is the home of one of nine Spaceport Americas. We learned about the development of future commercial rides to space.
LIVING AMENDMENTS PBL
Students continued their work on our PBL. The driving question is Why is it important to have a contemporary understanding of the Constitution and its amendments?
This week,students completed the first draft of an artist statement by answering specific questions in five paragraphs. Students submitted their final picture or video of their original visual art piece.
Next week, students will revise their written documents based on teacher feedback and upload their art and documents to a virtual Living Amendments museum. Students will visit the virtual museum exhibits, give and receive peer feedback on their pieces of art.
Optional: Students can work with two or three partners remotely to invent a sport. Invent a Sport That Can Be Played with Social Distance
