CMS Media Center News
Carmel Middle School
Thanks for a great year!
It has been a wonderful, busy year in the media center. Check out some highlights below!
Genius Hour
Mrs. Mindham's 6th and 8th grade students gave Genius Hour a try.
Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair was once again a success!
Banned Books Week
We celebrated our right to read with Banned Books Week in September.
eBooks and Audiobooks
We partnered with the Carmel Clay Public Library in the spring to learn about borrowing eBooks and Audiobooks from their collection. Students who attended the sessions earned a prize!
Reading
LOTS of reading took place this year! These are just some of the displays that students use to find new books.
Library Helpers
Student helpers once again manned the desk and helped Ms. Worthman with projects throughout the year. They are the best!
Outstanding Library Materials
All library materials are due on Friday, May 8th. Materials may no longer be checked out after May 8th.
Overdue notices will be e-mailed home Monday, May 11th.
Invoices for the cost of items not returned by May 18th will be mailed home.

2015-16 Parent Volunteers
Are you interested in getting involved at Carmel Middle School? Volunteering in the Media Center is a great way to do that! Details are still in the works about next year's volunteer shifts and duties, but some things you can expect as a Media Center parent volunteer include:
- Checking books in and out for students and staff (2015-16 will involve a lot more desk coverage!)
- Shelving items
- Organizing and assisting with displays in the Media Center
- Assisting in library promotions (giveaways, etc.)
- Repairing and processing materials
Please visit the PTO page for more information on signing up to volunteer.
