The Manning Weekly Newsletter
January 15, 2021
Manning Community,
Happy Friday! I’m so happy to report that all of our classrooms have been set-up with the necessary tech to begin our "live teaching" model once we return to hybrid. Remember that M-Th, all students will be engaged in synchronous learning, whether they are in the classroom or at home! Friday's will still remain as scheduled (see the schedule links below the upcoming dates section). Also, I would like cordially invite all of you to our Parent Partnership meeting Tuesday evening @ 5:00 p.m. and our PTA meeting on Thursday morning @ 9:00 a.m. Both of these committees are integral to the success of our community! Finally, I wanted to end my note this week with a section that I include in my weekly team bulletin to the Manning staff, called, "Knowledge is Power." Enjoy!
Stronger Together,
Christian Ramaker
Knowledge is Power:
In 1895, Alfred Nobel wrote his third and last will, establishing the five prizes: chemistry, literature, physiology or medicine, physics, and peace. I’ve included the link to the official site of the Nobel Peace Prize. More than ever do we need to learn from history and reflect upon the great people in this world that have innovated and focused on the betterment of our world. The first award was given out in 1901.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the age of 35 is still the youngest person in history to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. He received this incredible honor in 1964.

While we may be more used to remote schooling- the challenges and benefits-it might be useful to think and plan for how to make the best of it. Jeffco Virtual Academy has created a lovely site to help in that endeavor.
