Feature Story
Wikki Stix
This week in Miss Gentile's ELA class, students worked on identifying textual evidence to support their learning target RI 5.3 "I can explain relationships and interactions between two or more individuals, events, ideas,or concepts in a technical, scientific, or historical text." While identifying textual evidence students were able to use a new hands on tool called Wikki Sticks! This tool allows students to underline textual evidence without leaving a mark on the text. Students were also able to use various colors of Wikki Sticks to organize textual evidence for their upcoming informational essay. In future classes, students will use Wikki Sticks to circle unfamiliar words and context clues, Main Idea charts, and connect vocabulary words to their definitions.
