National Wear Red Day
The first Friday in February (February 2) is National Wear Red Day. On this day in February, which is considered American Heart Month, everyone across the country wears the color red in order to raise and spread awareness in hopes to help eradicate heart disease and stroke in millions of women all over the nation. So let's paint the school red and show our support for our students and community members with heart disease.
American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge
It’s time for the American Heart Association’s Kids Heart Challenge! This event will take place the weeks of February 12-16. When your student joins your school's KHC team, they will learn how to keep their hearts and brains healthy, get moving with fun activities, meet kids with special hearts and raise funds for the health of all hearts. Plus, They'll feel good for doing it! See flyer for more information.
Join today! Not only will you be helping fight heart disease and stroke (the No. 1 and No. 2 killers worldwide), but participants can earn fun thank-you gifts AND earn PE equipment for their school.
Heavenly Hats Foundation
On Wednesday, February 21st Rock Ledge Student Council will be sponsoring a wear a hat day. Students can pay $1.00 to wear their favorite hat at school. The proceeds from this fundraiser are donated to the Heavenly Hat Foundation which helps thousands of cancer patients around the United States.
Wisconsin School Bus Driver Appreciation Week
Wisconsin School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is Feb 12th-16th, 2024. In our district we use Kobussen, who with the help of 24 drivers transports more than 1046 students daily to schools in our district. School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is an excellent opportunity for parents, students, teachers, and school administrators to take this time to discuss the importance of school bus safety. Please thank a bus driver today!
Meet Our New SRO
Please welcome to our Rock Ledge family, School Resource Officer, Deputy Hambly. Here is a little more information about Deputy Hambly for her:
Hi there!
I am Deputy Hambly with the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office. I am so excited to step into the role as one of the School Resource Officers for the Seymour School District. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies out of Northern Illinois University and was a Correctional Officer for 6 years before starting on patrol at the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office in 2021. Ensuring the daily safety of the students and staff is my highest priority and I look forward to creating positive interactions with students, staff, and the Seymour community.
Outside of work, I stay busy chasing around my four year old son and running a lemonade business in the summer months. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants, perusing farmers markets, jamming to music in my Jeep, shopping for candles I don't need, and traveling.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me and I look forward to the challenges, memories, and growth this position will bring.

Winter Vehicle Safety Tips from Our SRO
1) Keep gas tank full to avoid ice in tank and fuel lines
2) Plan your route ahead of time and utilize GPS for updates on traffic changes
3) Have your child help prepare an emergency kit which can remain in vehicle:
- Portable phone charger / phone charger battery pack
- Extra items to remain warm: winter hats, gloves, coats and blankets
- Non-perishable food items and bottled water
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- First-aid kit
- Plastic bags for sanitation
4) In an emergency:
- Stay with your vehicle and don't overexert yourself
- Keep interior dome light on and place a bright marker on antenna and/or window
- Clear exhaust pipe of snow and avoid asphyxiation from carbon monoxide poisoning by avoiding running car for an extended period of time
Stay warm, stay safe!
