New girls coding club debuts
The new Maple girls coding club, SheCanCode, has begun! Twenty girls are learning to code in Python led by former Maple student and current GBN junior, Kristelle Widjaja. In her GBN classes, she recognized a need in her high school coding classes to encourage more girls to explore coding, and created an opportunity for our Maple girls. Girls are learning, collaborating, and will be developing coding for ongoing projects.
Watch for an announcement in fall of 2024 to join the 2024-25 SheCanCode club!
In this photo, girls are holding their rubber duckies to remind them of a strategy called "rubber duck debugging." Mrs. Kristen Leverso and Ms. Robin Dombeck are co-sponsoring this new Maple club.
