February Birthday Book Club a Success!
Thanks to all the parents, grandparents, and special guests who came out to support our February Birthday Book Club. We appreciate you taking the time to eat lunch with your child and for helping our library collection grow! The following students had books purchased in their honor by their special guests: Evelyeen McKissick, Kaydence Sanders-White, Elijah Rose, Oaklyn Jannetta, Jesse Whitley, Gavin Totherow, Brinley Collins, Addyson Sanders, and Dawton Dabbs. Since starting our Birthday Book Club in September, we have been able to add 57 brand new books for our library!
Our next Birthday Book Club lunch will be on March 21 and will celebrate our March birthdays. Be on the lookout for a Birthday Book Club invitation to come home with your student the week of March 11.
Attention parents of rising 6th graders:
We are thrilled to collaborate with our local middle schools. JUMP UP Days are scheduled for March! These JUMP UP Days are intended to help students start getting acclimated to the next level in their educational careers in Rock Hill Schools. Hosting schools will give students basic information about the schedule, extracurricular activities, expectations, as well as answer questions and work to help students feel comfortable and excited about the upcoming transition to middle school. Current Virtual Academy students will be invited to participate in the JUMP UP Day at their zoned schools for next year.
Our current fifth grade students will visit the middle school in which they are zoned for during the month of March, face-to-face. Each Sixth Grade Jump Up Day will run approximately 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Dates to be hosted by each middle school are as follows:
March 12 – Dutchman Creek Middle School
March 12 – Sullivan Middle School
March 13 – Rawlinson Road Middle School
March 19 – Saluda Trail Middle School
March 20 – Castle Heights Middle School
Transportation will be provided by the district.
Thank you for ensuring your 5th grader is prepared for the visit by arriving to school on time!
