Class of 2017 News Bulletin
Important information pertaining to the end of the year.
Attendance
-If you have more than 10 absences in any course, you MUST apply for an attendance waiver, or you will not receive course credit, possibly causing you to not graduate on time with your class.
-Attendance waiver applications are now available in the front office. They are due back to RHS no later than 2:30pm on May 30. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR A WAIVER.
-In order to be considered for a waiver, all absences MUST be excused. Please turn in excused notes on the correct form to Mr. Fields in guidance. That form may be found here: http://images.pcmac.org/SiSFiles/Schools/NC/OnslowCounty/RichlandsHigh/Uploads/Forms/ATTENDANCE_FORM.pdf
-Students with more than 10 unexcused absences may be excluded from the RHS Graduation Ceremony.

Senior Day - Friday, May 26
8:00am: Senior Cap and Gown Pictures
9:00am: Senior walk at Richlands district Elementary schools
Approx. 10:00am: Senior Picnic at Steed Park
-ALL SENIORS bring your cap & gown to school. We want you in the picture even if you aren't going to the picnic!
-You will not return to school after Senior Walks at Elementary Schools. Plan to bring a bag or hanger for your cap & gown during the picnic. Also remember to bring a towel.
-Remember, dress code applies at the Picnic.
-Late entry seniors should arrive at 8 and go to the gym for pictures.
-Early release seniors will not be able to check out from the picnic early. You will ride the bus back to school at the end of the day.
-All seniors attending the picnic must ride the bus.
Awards Ceremony - Wednesday, May 31
-Awards ceremony is May 31 in the auditorium.
-Underclassmen (9, 10, 11) at 5:30pm
-Seniors at 7:00
-Invitations went out in May 18.
-We are recognizing subject awards for fall and spring semesters, honor roll, principal’s list, and perfect attendance.
-The senior ceremony will also include their graduation cords and scholarships & future plans.
Students must arrive 20 minutes early
-Any student who is not dressed according to the dress code will not be recognized/allowed to walk across the stage.
Prom
Guidance Department
-All seniors need to check their CFNC accounts to see if they have requested their “final” transcript to be sent to the NC college they are attending in the fall.
-Transcripts will not be mailed unless it is an out-of-state college!
-Any updates to scholarships need to be given to Guidance.
-If you change the school you listed on the senior survey, please let Guidance know.
School Fees
-Fee letters with outstanding balances will be given out in homeroom Thursday.
-Please go to the library to pay all fines and fees.
-All unpaid fees must be taken care of prior to graduation practice, or students will be withheld from the graduation ceremony.
Graduation - Tuesday, June 13
-Graduation Practice will be held Monday June 12 @ 12:45pm in the gym. All graduation candidates must be present at practice to participate in the ceremony.
-Tickets will be signed for by each senior after practice.
-Graduation Ceremony: Tuesday June 13 @ 6pm. Seniors are to report to the 100 bldg by 5pm.
-All guests should be seated by 5:45pm. Outside doors will close at 5:50pm, after which there will be no further admittance.
-Each senior will receive 6 tickets & all guests will be seated in the gym.
-Everyone must have a ticket to get in, no matter their age. Even small children sitting on laps must have a ticket.
-Handicap seating will be available.
-There will be no alternate or overflow seating.
-Seniors will get their final graduation memo on Thursday with complete graduation information. Parents, look for this at home!
