Strengthened Student Supports
As a new year gets underway, a full continuum of supports is available in our schools to support students’ academic, social, emotional and behavior development and needs.
After two years of disrupted, pandemic learning, addressing academic gaps and supporting students’ development and well-being are top of mind. The district has taken a unique path. To create a more integrated approach, the team has brought curriculum and instruction together with special education and student services. This strengthened continuum of supports recognizes that each child has a unique combination of needs and strengths.
For the academic as well as the social, emotional and behavioral, there is a core set of instructional practices that all students experience. For students who show a need, there are also targeted services as well as individual supports.
Learn more about the continuum of supports available.
Gummy gummy gummy bear!
Students in Sra. Mraz' class went to the Maker Space room last week and let their imaginations flow freely while creating their very own gummy bears (ositos de gomita-which is what they know them as) using jello, plastic droppers and gummy bear shaped molds. SO much learning and creativity happening in Kinder!

Wild About Woodcrest Fun Run!
Please look for the flyer and envelope for the PTO Wild About Woodcrest Fun Run that was sent home with your child. Students have 12 days to collect money in person or online. We don't do per lap donations, just donations for the whole run. No need to go door-to-door, just have your student call/ask friends and family. Also, check if your work will match a donation. Envelopes with cash or checks written to WCSI PTO should be returned to school on or before Friday, October 7.
Each child can sign up for an individual online fundraising page and then the link you create can be shared to those who would like to make a credit card payment. If you do not want to create an individual link, credit cards can also be used on the general page.
