March Community Engagement- Book Collection
In celebration with Read Across America and the PTA’s March Reading Madness, Cashell’s Arts Team is hosting a book swap!
Cashell families, staff, and community members, please donate gently used children's books to Cashell’s Library Media Center. We will collect book donations from February 20th through Friday, March 15th.
On Monday, March 18th every class will visit our library and select a free used book to take home. Any remaining books will be donated to classroom libraries or MCPL’s Friends of the Library.

Change of School Assignment (COSA)
The Change of School Assignment (COSA) process allows families to submit a request
for their children to transfer out of their assigned home school. All COSA requests must
be submitted no later than Tuesday, April 2, 2024. COSA requests submitted after
April, 2, 2024 will only be accepted if the student is a new resident of Montgomery
County or there is an emergency event that could not have been foreseen prior to April
2, 2024. Information on the COSA process, including two different ways to submit a
request, can be found on this web page:

smART Sumer Program
Rising MCPS Grade 1 through 5 students are invited to apply for the MCPS smART Summer program starting at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 11. Registration sections will be closed as they reach capacity. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The MCPS smART Summer Program is an art and music camp where students work with MCPS art and music educators and Summer RISE high school students to expand their arts knowledge and skills. New this year, students will receive instruction in both art and music each day.
Rising Grade 4 and 5 students, who are currently enrolled in their respective school’s instrumental music program are invited to apply for the instrumental music camp. Students will spend each day expanding their knowledge of and skills on their instrument with MCPS instrumental music teachers and Summer RISE high school students.
The smARTSummer program will take place at Montgomery Blair High School from July 15th to July 24th 9:00am to 3:00pm. Before and aftercare is available for an additional cost.
Montgomery Blair High School is located at 51 University Blvd E, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
