ILEARN Spirit Days
Counselor's Corner
Hello Kingsbury Families! I hope that you all had a wonderful Spring Break. In the month of April, our SEL lessons will focus on problem solving skills and strategies. Our curriculum, Second Step, focuses on four steps to problem solving, which use the STEP acronym. S-Say the problem; T-Think of solutions. E-Explore consequences and P-Pick the best solution. We will be doing some role playing of different problems and asking the students to follow the STEP pattern to find solutions that are fair and equitable.
At home, you can ask your student to practice the STEP pattern when a problem arises at home and discuss with them the possible solutions, consequences and best solution.
Have a wonderful month!
Teacher Appreciation Week
We will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week May 6th-10th! Our KPT plans gifts and events throughout the week. More information will be coming out about ways for parents and students to participate. This is a great way to show our teachers how much we appreciate all that they do!
