A Message from the Administration

by John Terko
It finally made it — spring has arrived! This has been a long tough winter. I hope everyone enjoyed the April break, and we are back for the final stretch.
We have some changes next year as we have a number of people retiring after years of outstanding service. I will list below the people retiring (and their replacement if it is finalized).
Library – Karen Hennig – No replacement yet
Math Intervention – Kathy Rossier – Jean Sequeira
Literacy Intervention – Joan Beato – Cara Medved
Physical Education – Jenn Oakes – Dustin King
Physical Education – Pat Bannerman – Pending Board Approval
Nurse – Sue Leister – Maria Harlow
District Principal – Walter Nardelli – Greg Marino
Special Education at ABS – Marsi Foster – No replacement yet
Mosaic ¾ opening – No replacement yet
ABS Math intervention .5 – Lindsay Fisher
ABS Behavior Specialist – No hire yet
Athletic Director – No replacement yet
Reading Recovery – Lorraine Vorse – No replacement yet

Many of the retiring professionals have dedicated years to the Williston School District. Their work ethic and content knowledge has touched many students in their efforts to prepare them for life. Teachers have a huge impact on young lives and each and every person above has done just that. We wish them health and happiness in the years ahead and we thank you for all you have done for the students and families you have come in contact with. You will be missed!
Welcome Greg Marino Thurs. April 30
Please join the Williston school community in welcoming our new District Principal, Greg Marino. Greg is a Williston resident and has been serving as the Charlotte Central School Principal for five years. A welcome reception will be held on April 30th, 2015 from 4:15 to 5:15 PM in the WCS dining room. Williston parents and community members are encouraged to come and meet our new District Principal.

8th Grade Challenge Collection for Vt. Refugee Resettlement
My name is Prince Yodishembo and I am doing immigration for my 8th grade challenge. For my community connection I presented to some of the houses in the school about my immigration journey. Now for the second part of my community connection I would like to have a donation drive for the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program. The donations needed for the donation drive are any winter gear (boots, hats, mittens, scarves, etc.) that your family doesn't need anymore or that don't fit you or your children. Thank you in advance for all the donations. You can find a box at the front office of WCS or ABS.
