Cross District Teacher Visits
Textbook Ordering for 17-18
Teachers:
1. Inventory existing materials, enter on order form.
2. Estimate anticipated enrollment (roll forward numbers), enter on order form.
3. Determine needs for 17-18 school year, enter on order form
4. Turn into your Principal, or designee, by Friday, 3/17
Principals:
1. Review current inventory
2. Review projected enrollment numbers
3. Review individual teacher orders
4. Put together all teacher orders by site on one order form, submit to Kristy Warren by Friday, 3/24
Strengthening the Start
At the midpoint of our school year, district-wide data is after each component:
Learning Environment: A sustained, successful start routine promoting positive behavior and a positive learning environment is evidenced for all students. (88% All or Most)
Instructional Time: A sustained, successful start routine optimizing efficient and effective student learning is evidenced for all students. (71% All or Most)
Student Engagement: All students actively participate and engage in the sustained, successful start expectations. (86.2 % All or Most)
Virtual Field Trips
PORTS- Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students
Ancient Civilizations- Explore the art and architecture of the ancient Greeks and Romans through the art and artifacts of Hearst Castle (6th grade)
Gold Rush- Learn about the California Gold Rush from Columbia State Historic Park. (4th grade)
Immigration- Explore the topic of immigration through the stories and lives of those who came through the US Immigration Station at Angel Island State Park.
Monarch Butterfly Lifecycle and Migration- Explore the mystery of Monarch butterfly lifecycle and Migration from Natural Bridges State Park. (Kindergarten - 3rd grade)
Salmon Lifecycle- Students are introduced to the life cycle of salmon and the importance of watersheds for their survival at Del Norte Redwoods State Park (3rd, 6th grade)
State Government- Engage students in researching information about their state representatives, the law-making process, and how they, as citizens, have a voice in government. (8th (adaptable for other grades)
What is a Mammal? - Explore how mammals are different from other animals by learning unique features of mammals and comparing them to reptiles, insects and others. (Kindergarten-2nd grade)
Tech Tuesday, 3:30-4:00
Join Kristy via Google Hangout for Tech Tuesday, every Tuesday from 3:30-4:00 where we talk about a specific tech tool. All are welcome! Join if you have something to share about the topic or want to learn more!
