Sea Turtles in Nicaragua

What is Ecotourism
Ecotourism is tourism directed towards exotic, usually threatened, natural environments, often used to observe wildlife. Ecotourism is important because it conserves natural habitats for plants and animals.
Sea Turtles
Sea turtles come onto the beaches of Nicaragua and lay large numbers of eggs each year. The place where the turtle is born is usually the place she will lay her eggs. There are 4 common sea turtle species that come here each year, Green, Hawksbill, Leatherback, & Loggerhead. This is important because two of the four species are endangered & they have to have a special watch to make sure that nothing bad happens to the turtles and their babies.
How Ecotourism is beneficial to this
Ecotourism is very beneficial to the Sea Turtles because you can watch them naturally hatch in an environment that the animals chose themselves.
Existing Adventures of Ecotourism
Watching the turtles hatch is not the only activity for the turtles in Nicaragua, you can also interact with the turtles.
