Voices for Opportunity: Spring into Action Brown Bag Lunch
The Voices for Opportunity Initiative will be hosting a “Spring into Action” brown bag lunch on April 27th from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. This brown bag lunch will provide advocacy skills training for social services providers, renters and others interested access to affordable housing in well-resourced D/FW areas. In this session, participants will learn about education barriers and ways that families can engage and advocate for educational equity and excellence. Dessert, chips, and beverages will be provided. Because seating is limited, please change your reply ASAP should you need to cancel. Thank you

Blue Sunday is National Day of Prayer for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, which is always the last Sunday of April ~ Child Abuse Prevention Month. U-Nique Purpose, Inc. stands in agreement with the goals of the Blue Sunday Child Abuse Prevention Initiative.

Poverty Simulation-June 19th
Region 10 Education Service Center and the Center for the Elimination of Disproportionality and Disparities are co-sponsoring a Poverty Simulation on Monday, June 19th at Wanda Meshack--Head Start of Greater Dallas Administration Complex located at 3954 Gannon Lane, Dallas from 1:00--4:00 pm. To help us achieve this goal, representatives from health and human services agencies, community representatives, leaders, parents, and youth join us in an advisory capacity. Our vision is to create a system in which children, youth, families and other vulnerable citizens’ best interest are met and they have a strong, informing voice. Inclusive partnerships and shared leadership across systems and the community will help us realize the vision for the children, youth and families for whom system improvement efforts exist.
Meetings will be held from 2:00-3:30pm at Dallas CASA 2757 Swiss Ave., Dallas, TX 75204 on the second Thursday of each month with the exception of August and December or as approved by the committee members.
