FHS Instrumental Music Newsletter

Band Family Updates
Dear Parents, Guardians, Friends, and Families:
I hope this newsletter finds you anticipating a season of warmth, family, relaxing holidays, and maybe some holiday cookies!
It was not too long ago that we shared in our Bison Band fall newsletter the work of the Bison Chamber Band and the Marching Band. We are now pleased to bring you the fruits and creativity of about the last six weeks as we head into the Holiday Break. Although we are sad that our current circumstances do not allow us to have our 95th Annual Band & Choir Holiday Concert, we still have students who are as committed as ever learning music and about music. How grateful are we for that!
As stated in the last newsletter, I am most grateful and impressed with our students. Their spirits remain high and their resolve remains strong. We will get through this and we look forward to being together and making music once again soon.
Please read this entire newsletter as there is some great news about what our students have been doing. There is also information on what's to come, so please check that out. Most importantly, please be sure to check out the Music Department "Holiday Showcase" video that includes what the students have been working on.
Sincerely,
Garett A George

"Holiday Showcase" Video
In the band video, you will hear the members of the Concert Band, Symphonic Winds, & Jazz Bands perform some favorite holiday songs.
The students of the Concert Band & Symphonic Wind Ensemble chose their own groups to collaborate with. They also chose their own music to perform from a list of songs. They then recorded themselves and created their own backgrounds and accompaniments using Soundtrap. Soundtrap is a Digital Audio Workstation, or DAW!
If the video doesn't work for some reason, please click here for an alternate version. This video will be available for a month on Youtube.
In Closing...
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you and your family have a relaxing, restful, safe, and wonderful Holiday season..
Musically yours,
Garett George
