Hard Drive/SSD
The hard Drive is inside the computer. It stores all the data (files and applications). SSD stands for Solid State Drive. It does the same job as a hard drive but is smaller has no moving parts and therefore, is less expensive.

The Optical Drive is used to read disks such as CD's, blueray disks and DVD's. It reads the data useing a laser beam.
