From the desk of Natalie Kijurna:
Hello!
It's December 21, 2018, the 355th day of the year. There are 10 days left!
With the holiday season upon us, I don't have much of a message this week other than what is already all around us. At this time of year, I know we all get caught up in the daily hustle and bustle, the stress, the commitments to friends, family, and possibly schools or churches. But, whatever your commitments, whatever your time constraints, please remember to not only be kind to others, but kind to yourself. Take time out to enjoy this festive holiday season as we head into 2019 and think about what goals you accomplished this year and what goals you have yet to accomplish in the New Year. Every day is a new day to start again and that is never more true than at the end of a year and a beginning of a new one.
If you're receiving this newsletter, you're already an accomplished alumnus of College of Court Reporting or a stellar student in your final weeks or even days before becoming a professional court reporter. My advice? Take a breath, pat yourself on the back for all your hard work this year and then maybe take a drive around some neighborhoods and check out the lights, volunteer at a food pantry, take a walk in your city's downtown area, bake some cookies, watch It's a Wonderful Life or one of my favorites A Christmas Story or Love, Actually. In the words of one Ferris Bueller, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
With that said, please take a look at this week's opportunities, some of which are carried over from week to week. Also, please go to www.ccr.edu. Click on Resources>Alumni/Employers and take a look at some of our Employer Colleagues! Each of these employers are interested in hiring. So, give them a call!
Questions? Please let me know. Remember, I'm here to help in any way I can whether it's providing resume/cover letter edits, interviewing tips, or job search guidance. Always feel free to give me a call or send an email.
Also, please note there will be no Job Drawer until January 11, 2018.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Slainte Mhath!
