Curriculum Mapping Workshop
By Kelly Delehanty
Agenda
Welcome to your curriculum mapping session from 9:00am-11:00am!
Below you will find an outline of today’s session.
9:00 - 9:15 - Greetings. Each person will go around and introduce themselves and tell everyone what grade level they are teaching and tell us something unique about themselves as an icebreaker activity.
9:15 - 9:30 - What is your view on curriculum mapping? Allow participants to discuss their thoughts with a partner on what their view is on curriculum mapping. After participants have discussed their views with a partner they will then have an opportunity to share with one another. The views that are brought up constantly by different groups will be written up on the board so that we can refer back to those ideas throughout the workshop.
9:30 - 10:00 - Choose a grade level that everyone can relate to and create a curriculum as a whole group. Participants will create a curriculum that is very general and just gives overviews of topics. This should not be long and extensive.
10:00 - 10:30 - Participants will be shown how to use three different technology apps that will allow them to do their curriculum mapping right online. Each app will be presented and discussed as a whole group. Participants will be shown how to use each app and they will be presented with examples of each app. The three different technology apps that participants will be shown are google drawing, bubble.us, and gliffy.
10:30 - 10:55 - Allow participants to try the new tech bytes that were presented to them. Allow them to ask any questions they have while trying out the tech bytes so that they can take the new technology and use it in their own schools while planning curriculum in the future.
10:55 - 11:00 - Have participants complete a quick survey about the curriculum mapping apps using a google form.
Hope you enjoyed your time here and are able to use these apps in your future curriculum mapping!
