Channel 13 Operation Football Sunrise
WTHR Channel 13 Operation Football Sunrise visited Cascade High School on Friday, August 23rd from 5:00-7:00 a.m. to kick off their coverage of the high school football season. We had over 200 students and over 30 staff members here very early Friday morning to participate in the fun. Carlos Diaz from Channel 13 is the host for Operation Football Sunrise and was amazed at the student and staff turnout and enthusiasm. Our students and staff represented Cascade High School incredibly well. Thank you to Jack's Donuts in Plainfield for partnering with our athletic department to provide donuts and coffee for those who attended Friday morning.
National Honor Society Induction Ceremony
25 outstanding students were inducted into Cascade High School's National Honor Society on Wednesday, August 28th. National Honor Society sponsor, Miss Laura Lovern organized a wonderful ceremony for the students' induction into NHS. We are very proud of these 25 students and look forward to them serving as leaders at Cascade High School.
Cascade High School PTO
We appreciate our parents who volunteer their time working with the Cascade High School PTO. The PTO raises money and spends time in our building to assist students and staff. PTO gives 2 scholarships each year to graduating seniors. The next PTO meeting is Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30 p.m. in the Cascade High School Media Center. The CHS staff would like to thank our PTO for providing Papa Murphy's pizza to take home at the end of the first full week of school.
Athletic Director -- Mr. Scott Stevens
No one spends more time at Cascade High School than our outstanding Athletic Director, Mr. Scott Stevens. We appreciate Mr. Stevens for his leadership of the athletic department and his commitment to making sure our student-athletes have quality extra-curricular facilities, coaches, contests, attire and experiences. He has brought the IHSAA Inside-Out Initiative to our athletic program to help ensure that our student-athletes have an education-based athletic experience that focuses on their athletic and personal growth. Mr. Stevens has spent many hours in professional development training to become a nationally Certified Athletic Administrator and also serves on the board for IIAAA. Thank you, Mr. Stevens for the countless hours that you spend and for the work that you do to benefit our student-athletes!
