Volunteer Spotlight
From Andrea:
My daughter Kaitlyn started kindergarten in 2007 and that's when I started to volunteer at Bedminster. I began as a head homeroom parent and was a homeroom parent for every one of Kaitlyn's classes, I continue to do so for my son Ryan, who started Kindergarten in 2013. For a few years I was the homeroom parent organizer for all homeroom parents in school. Also when Ryan was in kindergarten I helped the students with improving their writing skills as they wrote about what they did on the weekend. I started volunteering for the Pet Show in 2010 which is a wonderful long standing Bedminster tradition, and I still continue to do so. I was the Market Day chairperson, (which no longer exists) from 2010-2015. When Kaitlyn was in 2nd grade and also for Ryan this year I volunteered to assist with 2nd grade swimming. This is lots of fun! One of things that I am most closely associated with is the Book Fair, which I have chaired since 2013. Along with this, I have been volunteering in the library since 2014. This is one of my favorite ways to spend time at the school! Around that same time I began volunteering for lunch duty, it’s so great to see your child interact with their friends and get to know other kids at lunch. I have helped out with Race for Education since 2009 both in the classroom and on race day, and I volunteer to help hang art work for the festival of the arts show. Lastly I served as Vice President on the PTG board 2010-2012 and President 2012-2013. Currently I am a member at large on the PTG Board. There are a multitude of ways to volunteer at Bedminster, as little or as much as you are able. I consider myself very fortunate to have a career where I can take time off to volunteer at school, although sometimes it can be quite a juggling act. I enjoy helping out at the school and my children have always been excited to see me there. I can't tell you how many times they have asked if I would be in to help with this or that. It's also nice to get to know other children whether I'm helping at lunch duty or in the library.

Race For Education
Volunteers
The Race is only a few short weeks away! Volunteers are the key to a successful event. We would like to thank everyone who came out to support the students as they prepared approximately 2600 mailers. If you are interested in volunteering to help out with the Race, please be sure to check out the Sign-Up Genius that was set up specifically for the event.

Please note that some of the opportunities do require clearances. If you do not have them on file with the District yet, we encourage you to do so as it does take approximately one week for the District to process them.
Congratulations!
We received so many wonderful logos for this year’s Race for Education T-Shirt Logo Contest! The designs were reviewed by a small committee who were looking for designs that depicted the Race and this school year’s theme – “We All Fit Together.” After the extremely difficult task of narrowing it down to four designs, the students had an opportunity to vote for their favorite. We would like to congratulate John W. (5th grade) for creating the winning design which will be on all of the Race for Education T-Shirts this year. We send a huge thank you to all of the fourth and fifth grade students who participated and encourage everyone to keep an eye out for all of the designs that were submitted as they will be displayed throughout the school during Spirit Week!
