Raider Review - 8th Grade EDITION
5/12/2021
Message from the Principal
Dear 8th Grade Families,
Your 8th Grader will soon be a Lake Travis High School Cavalier! The end of this school year is full of exciting events and I'm sure your students are ready for summer. Your future high schooler has some upcoming events and activities that we don't want them to miss. Please read below for those details.
This time last year we were unable to celebrate with our students in person so this is our official "first" end of the year together as Raiders. It's been an incredible year on so many levels and your kids have demonstrated such strength and resiliency through it all. It's been an honor to serve your students, they have such bright futures ahead of them.
I wish all of your 8th graders a wonderful end to their school year. It's a momentous occasion for students to complete their middle school journey and get excited for their next adventure in high school. I'm so proud of their accomplishments and will miss this group (and their families) next year.
Thank you Raiders and Go Cavs!
Amanda Prehn
Principal, Bee Cave Middle School
End of Year Activities and Events
9-9:30: Breakfast
9:30-10:30: Awards Ceremony- Meeting Link: meet.google.com/qqy-ngsi-kbp
This event will be broadcasted via Google Meet for remote students and parents. Remote students are welcome to join us in-person for the breakfast and the awards ceremony. Drop off and pickup for remote students will be in the bus loop at the rear of our building. Unfortunately we are not able to have parents join us in person.
10:30: School-Wide Staff and Student Clap-Out for 8th Graders
6th and 7th grade students and staff will join 8th graders in the Main Hall as they make their way back to class following the ceremony. This is a special way for their fellow students and past teachers to celebrate our 8th graders.
5/26/2021 - District Wide 8th Grade Poetry Slam
This awesome event will take place during the students' Go Time period and all middle school campuses will be involved. This is a virtual event for all students. For more information, have your students check with their ELA teachers.
5/28/2021 - Last Day of School (release at 2:10), School-Wide Clap Out
Staff will join parents and students on Vail Divide as students leave for the summer to clap and cheer our way into Summer! Parents will simply pick up like usual but feel free to roll down your windows so we can all say our goodbyes one last time.
6/3/2021- Last day to make LTHS course changes in Skyward.
Mr. Butler wants to remind you to check the level of your courses (Pre-Ap, Honors, etc.) for next year in Skyward. Please remember that there are no level changes at Lake Travis High School after this deadline. Mr. Butler and the LTHS team are looking forward to welcoming their new crop of Cavaliers in August!
